    Common Merganser

    Common Merganzer- Mergus merganser
    Common Merganser, Mergus merganser, Order Anseriformes, Family Anatidae, Subfamily Anatinae. These "far in the distance" Common Mergansers were found on the north side of the Dunlapsville Causeway in a small ice-free opening on the last day of January on Brookville Reservoir in extreme SE Indiana. Tundra Swans were also inhabiting the same area.
