    Male Yellow-rumped Warbler- Dendroica coronata
Yellow_rumped Warbler, Dendroica coronata, Order PASSERIFORMES - Family PARULIDAE. It was a very rainy Sunday morning. But I was excited to get into the field to look for warblers in Heuston Woods. Despite the rainshowers, I was able to identify three species of warblers in the transitional forest near Sugar Camp in Heuston Woods State Park. The canopy was loaded with warblers! It was fantastic!

"The Yellow-rumped Warbler is one of the most common warblers in North America. Although other warblers have yellow rumps, none are as conspicuous as consistently as this species. Breeds in coniferous forests from Alaska and Canada, southward to the northern United States and southward in the western mountains through Mexico to Guatemala."
