White-eyed Vireo Hatch-year White-eyed Vireo- Vireo griseus White-eyed Vireo- Vireo griseus-Order Passeriformes, Family Vireonidae. While mist netting in Miami University Birding Observatory with Drs. Jill and Dave Russel, and a host of others, a White-eyed Vireo was captured in the mist nets. NOTE: The eyes are dark! First-year birds have dark eyes which "whiten up" as they age!
