Redhead Ducks Redhead Ducks-Aythya americana Redhead Ducks-Aythya americana, Order Aneriformes, Family Anatidae. On a beautiful late Feb morning, I spotted this group of Redheaded ducks in Acton Lake in Heuston Woods State Park in Ohio. Males have the red head while the females are less colorful.
