    Male American Wigeon
    Full Size Image = 545 K
American Wigeon- Anas americana, Order Anseriformes, Family Anatidae- Subfamily Anatinae. This dabbling duck has a very distinctive head and small bill. This individual is a male. Note: I also spotted the immature Bald Eagle I saw earlier in the day flying with the seagulls. By the time I got my photo gear ready, it had again flown out-of-sight!

Photo: Feb 17, 2005, Canon EOS Mark II digital camera with 600mm f/4.0 L IS lens and 1.4X Teleconverter
