    Lesser Yellowlegs "Trio"

    Lesser Yellowlegs- Tringa flavipes
    Lesser Yellowlegs- Tringa flavipes, Sandpipers-Family Scolopacidae. First Yellowlegs of the year for me. These birds were feeding on the mudflats in Spring Valley Nature area in SW Ohio on a beautiful sunny, mid-April day. (Photo: April 18, 2004, Canon 10D, EF 400mm f/5.6 L USM, 1.4x teleconverter EF ll lens, manual focus)

    Family Scolopacidae: "Small to medium sized waders. Bills more slender than plovers. About 87 species worldwide. Note bright yellow legs. These birds on a short "stopover" on their way to Canada."
