In-Flight Adult Eagle Bald Eagle- Haliaeetus leucocephalus (in Florida) Bald Eagle- Haliaeetus leucocephalus, Order Falconiformes-Famliy Accipitridae, Subfamily Accipitrinae. I thought I'd throw in a few photos from my recent spring break trip to Little Gasparilla Island in SW Florida along the Gulf coast. This adult was found near a nest it was tending to.
