Fleeing Red-tailed Hawk Red-tailed Hawk - Buteo jamaicensis Red Tail Hawk - Buteo jamaicensis, Order FALCONIFORMES - Family ACCIPITRIDAE - Subfamily Accipitrinae. The lighting was perfect for this hawk spotted along Hwy 27 near Ross. The most common and widespread of all hawks in North America.
