Canada Geese Discourse Canada Geese-Branta canadensis Canada Geese, Branta canadensis, Order ANSERIFORMES - Family ANATIDAE - Subfamily Anserinae. The most familiar and widespread goose in North America. Populations generally on the increase over last half century. These beauties were having an "animated discussion" on Acton Lake in Heuston Woods State Park in Ohio.
