TROPIC and NEAR-TROPIC BIRD COLLECTION

Bufflehead flight Buffleheads- Bucephala albeola Buffleheads- Bucephala albeola, Family Anatidae. The males have a large whitepatch on their heads. The females "white patch"is less distinct. On this spring day, males were courting females. It was impressive! Nest in tree cavities. These birds were found at Acton lake in the Heuston Woods State Park in SW Ohio. (Photo: March 22, 2004)
